From our very first imported sugared almonds to today’s ever-growing collection of unique flavours, colours and accessories, we’ve continued to evolve, with a passion for bringing joy and sweetness to every celebration.
We specialise in premium Italian sugared almonds, stunning bomboniere, and the most sought-after confectionery for weddings, christenings, communions, baby showers and special occasions Australia-wide. Our delicious Italian sugared almonds feature a premium almond centre, soft chocolate centre bursting with flavour, and finished in a thin sugar coating.
Our handpicked collections include flavoured sugared almonds in a variety of stunning colours, traditional sugared almonds, chocolate hazelnut balls, metallic finishes and elegant bomboniere accessories sourced from Italy. We also offer personalised bomboniere styling options including acrylic boxes, slimline pouches, custom tags and colour-coordinated finishes designed to complement every celebration. Bomboniere have been part of Italian, Greek and Middle Eastern traditions for generations. Traditionally, each bomboniere contains five sugared almonds, symbolising life’s most cherished blessings: health, wealth, love, prosperity and happiness.

Growing up in Australia, I only knew sugared almonds as the hard, boring and ‘tooth-breaking’ sweets that were given to guests as bomboniere at weddings and other celebrations – as did many others with Italian or European heritage. That all changed at my own wedding in Southern Italy, when my mother-in-law proposed flavoured sugared almonds to use for our bomboniere.
At first I wasn’t interested, I was convinced I already knew what they were. It wasn’t until after the wedding, when my mother-in-law insisted I try the sweets again, that one bite revealed something completely new: a soft-centred, indulgent chocolate sugared almond bursting with flavour – unlike anything I had tasted in Australia.
That single discovery sparked an idea in me. I realised that Australian brides, party organisers and event planners could embrace tradition while offering guests something modern, delicious, and memorable. It was the perfect balance – a way to please family and impress guests with a modern twist on a classic treat.
Bringing the concept home, I shared these sweets with family and friends, and their reaction confirmed my vision. In 2012, Sugared Almond Boutique (previously known as Dolci Sapori Imports) was born – a Melbourne based business transforming traditional wedding and event bomboniere with premium flavoured sugared almonds imported from Italy.


SAB has since grown to serve thousands of celebrations across Australia, and we are known for our range of premium quality flavoured sugared almonds, not to mention our extended range of coloured sugared almonds, hazelnut chocolate balls and traditional sugared almonds that are anything but tooth-breaking.
